The Solstice Selection: Why "Goddesses of the Glass" is the Must-Attend St. Louis Event This June

There is a certain magic that happens at The Fountain on Locust when the sun begins to set, the Art Deco murals catch the light, and the first pour of a world-class spirit hits the glass. But this June, we’re taking that magic to a global level.

Following our debut event this spring—which sold out in record time—we are thrilled to announce the return of our quarterly tasting series: Goddesses of the Glass: The Solstice Selection.

If you missed the first one, consider this your official invitation to the table. If you were there, you already know: this isn't your average, stiff-collared tasting. It’s an evening of "liquid storytelling," bold flavors, and a celebration of the women who are currently shaking up the global spirits industry.

More Than a Tasting: A Mission in Every Glass

In the historically male-dominated world of spirits and viticulture, a quiet revolution is happening. From the high-altitude vineyards of the Andes to the coastal distilleries of Hiroshima, women are stepping into the roles of Master Distiller, Lead Blender, and Owner.

At The Fountain, we believe those voices deserve to be heard (and tasted). Goddesses of the Glass is dedicated to showcasing these "Rebel Spirits." Every one of the five pours curated for this event was crafted by a woman who is prioritizing sustainability, intentionality, and technical mastery. When you buy a ticket, you aren't just enjoying a night out; you’re supporting the independent female producers who are changing the world, one bottle at a time.

5 Courses, 5 Continents, 1 Legendary Storyteller

A great drink is even better when it comes with a story. That’s why we’ve enlisted the industry’s premier raconteur, Darryl "Poncho" Vennard, to host the evening.

Known for his global travels and a palate that is second to none, Poncho has personally curated our Summer Solstice pairings. He doesn’t just tell you what notes to look for; he transports you. As you move through our 5-course sensory journey, Poncho will weave together anecdotes of innovation and triumph from the women behind the labels.

You’ll experience:

  • A Global Flight: Five sophisticated beverage pairings from diverse landscapes.

  • Scratch-Made Pairings: Four small plates featuring The Fountain’s signature comfort foods.

  • The Grand Finale: A decadent, boozy Fountain dessert finish that you’ll be dreaming about for weeks.
