A Fresh Act: The Spring Menu Arrives at The Fountain

A Key Lime Ice Cream Margarita joins the spring summer menu!

There is a specific kind of energy that hits the intersection of Locust and Cardinal Street when the sun starts staying out a little longer. As the owners and caretakers of this Art Deco gem, we always look forward to these days, because they’re the moments when we get to leave a little bit of who we are on this place.

New Menu Day only happens twice a year at The Fountain on Locust, and it’s a milestone we don’t take lightly. While our team is busy prepping the kitchen and polishing the glassware, we’ve been behind the scenes in the office finalizing a lineup that feels like Spring in St. Louis: bright, crisp, and a little bit celebratory.

The Return of the Fan Favorites

A huge hit as a short-run special, Street Corn Ribs will join our Spring-Summer menu as a shareable.

We believe some things are simply too good to be "seasonal." You spoke, and we listened: our Street Corn Ribs (GF, V) are now a permanent staple on the starter menu. They were run as a test special in the fall and sold out 3 times!

They’re joined by the triumphant return of the Classic Veggie Sandwich, Chicken Salad Wraps, and Chef AJ’s summer Taco Salad.

Sips for Sunnier Days

Our bar team has outdone themselves with a cocktail list that feels like a garden party in a glass. From the zing of Ginger’s Heels to the botanical notes of Stanton’s Bees Knees, there is a story in every pour.

We’re also proud to debut The Queen of the Desert. Not only is it delicious, but it serves a mission—a portion of the proceeds from every drink goes directly to Amplify the Arch, supporting the local arts and community that make our city thrive.

Double the Bubbles (And the Mocktails)

A glass filled with ice cream and aperol sits next to a bottle of Aperol in the dining room at The Fountain on Locust.

Aperol Float

Inclusivity is a core part of how we run The Fountain. This season, we’ve doubled our mocktail options, including a sophisticated new alcohol-removed wine.

And for those looking for the ultimate spring treat? Don't miss the new Aperol Spritz Float. It’s the perfect marriage of a classic Italian aperitif and our world-famous ice cream.

PLUS: Ryan and Abigail have outdone themselves with their lineup of iconic seasonal cocktails including:

  • Well, Bless Your Heart: A sweet and spicy peach and habanero margarita-style highball. (One of Danni’s favorites - because it’s so fun to say in a drawl?…Maybe.)

  • Ginger’s Heels: A Vodka-Cran meets a Moscow Mule in this sweeter highball featuring vodka, Big O Ginger Liqueur, lime, ginger ale, cranberry bitters and a ginger candy.

  • Rosemary’s Bubbly: A bright, botanical and bubbly spritz that sparkles with Absolut Citron, St. Germaine Elderflower Liqueur, lemon, a house-made rosemary simple syrup, topped with champagne.

  • Castaway Daiquiri: This crushable, pina colada-inspired daq features Don Q Coconut Rum, lime, and a house-made pineapple oleo.

  • Stanton’s Bees Knees: The Fountain’s take on a new classic returns with a house-made honey gin, lemon, rhubarb bitters, and a strawberry dust rim. A nod to a favorite former teammate Jessica Stanton, who got inventive one afternoon and created a hit cocktail.

  • Absinthe-Minded: A funky highball for the more adventurous that features Absinthe, Gosling’s Black Rum, Big O Ginger Liqueur, lime, cream of coconut, and topped with Frosty’s Rootbeer.

  • Whiskey Kiss: A favorite of our longtime Fountain regulars, the Whiskey Kiss is back with Bourbon, Big O Ginger Liqueur, lemon and simple syrup. A perfect refreshing summertime sipper.

  • Queen of the Desert: A delicious beverage and a Mitzvah, all in one! The Queen of the Desert combines blanco tequila, fresh lemon, and simple topped with bubbly rosé. Proceeds from this drink will go to Amplify the Arch in support of their mission advocating for queer youth in Saint Louis.

The "New" Icons

Finally, it wouldn't be a menu change without some movement on our Ice Cream Martini list. We are thrilled to introduce the Pistachio Dream and the Key Lime Pie. The latter was such a hit with our Martini Club members that we knew we had to bring it to the main stage for everyone to enjoy.

Come Celebrate With Us

Whether you’re a regular who knows every mural by heart or a first-timer looking for the best sundae in the city, we invite you to pull up a chair and try something new.

Running this business is a labor of love, and seeing these booths filled with people enjoying the fruits of our team's hard work is the best part of the job.
