From the Soil to the Glass: Why We’re Launching "Goddesses of the Glass"
At The Fountain on Locust, we’ve always believed that the best stories are told over a shared table. Our hand-painted murals, our vintage booths, and even our signature ice cream sundaes all have a story to tell. But lately, we’ve been thinking about the stories behind the bottles behind our bar.
Specifically, the stories of the women who are shattering glass ceilings in the world of wine, sake, and spirits.
That is why we are so incredibly proud to announce our newest tradition: Goddesses of the Glass. More Than Just a Tasting This isn’t your typical, stiff wine dinner. We wanted to create something that felt uniquely "Fountain"—a little whimsical, deeply intentional, and a lot of fun.
Launching this March in honor of Women’s History Month, this quarterly series is our way of amplifying the female visionaries—the winemakers, master brewers, and distillers—who are often the "hidden ingredients" in a male-dominated industry. We’re bringing their grit, their triumph, and their incredible liquid art to the forefront.
A Fun "High/Low" Experience
For our inaugural event on March 9, we’ve put together a four-course menu that celebrates what we call "High/Low" pairings. We’re taking world-class, sophisticated pours and matching them with the scratch-made comfort food you know and love us for.
Think: A refined, female-crafted Sake paired with our fresh signature salad, or a bold wine from a woman-led estate served alongside our famous bird-nest artichoke dip. And because we are The Fountain, you know we’re finishing things off with a decadent, boozy dessert.
A Night of Storytelling with Poncho
We knew that to truly honor these makers, we needed a storyteller who could do their journeys justice. That’s why we’ve asked our dear friend and industry legend, Darryl "Poncho" Vennard, to host the evening.
If you know Poncho, you know his passion for global travel and his legendary palate. He has personally curated every sip for this event, and he’ll be weaving together the tales of the women behind the bottles as we dine.
Join the Inner Circle
We’re keeping this evening intimate and communal. We want you to meet your neighbors, toast to new friends, and be part of the very first chapter of what we hope will be a long-standing tradition.
As a thank you for being part of our "Volume 1" crowd, everyone who joins us on March 9 will get priority booking for our Summer session before it opens to the general public.
Tickets are $55 and include all four courses and pairings. Our events tend to move fast, so grab your seat at the table and let’s raise a glass to the goddesses.
